Since I was not planning to reuse the old frame, I cut it up to make it easier to move about. I did not want to remove the springs from the axles, since I would probably have to cut the U bolts.
At this point, I was left with two axles with springs and wheels attached. In each restoration there is a turn around point. It is a point to celebrate, because after that, you are into reassembly. Things are cleaner. You see forward progress. Things are lost..... Things refuse to fit together....... Forget the celebration!
Need a frame out of your shop? Give your son a 90 degree angle grinder! This photo is several months down the pike, I saved the frame parts that long just in case......
Who says a Jeep isn't of any use? A Rover frame will fit in one if you pack it just right!
