Once I had actually driven Maggie down the road, I felt confident investing in some refinements. My wife took over at this point. She wanted seats and doors.
I found a new fuel tank on ebay, and snapped it up. I installed it, and then discovered that my filler hose was rotten. Back to ebay, and I found one there, from Wise Owl. I snapped that up as well. With a proper fuel tank installed, I was a lot closer to being road legal.
Meanwhile, I disassembled the hinges, cleaned them up with a wire wheel on my angle grinder, reassembled and painted them.
