This is Chester, my Golden Retriever.
He is a kind of retro-hippie type dog, happy go lucky. He is always willing to forgive the errors of my ways. I met him when I ran over him with my VW bus. I went back to check on him, and when I opened the door to the VW bus, he jumped in! He was covered with ticks, burs, was wet and extremely smelly. More like a sasquatch than a dog. It appeared he had been living on his own for quite a while. I took him to the vet, patched him up, ran an ad in the newspaper. Nobody answered, so we became pals and he decided to move in. The only thing he is afraid of is thunder. He is an excellent hunter. He used to swim into beaver dams just to bark at the beavers!
This is Baer, my Chocolate Lab.
She is more of a type A personality, a brilliant retriever. She keeps Chester in line. If I can't get Chester to mind, I discipline Baer and she takes charge. She understands the chain of command very well, and likes to be the boss. She is also a great car alarm. Nothing gets stolen from the open top Rover while she's in it!
Ride to Live, Live to Ride. Chester's favorite thing. He will protect the Rover with all he has. He almost killed another dog for urinating on it's tire! We had to hold them underwater to get him to turn loose of the other dog's neck!
